Whidbey Island
Fifty miles north of Seattle via the Mukilteo Ferry, the Village of Langley by the Sea is THE place to be on Whidbey Island during all four seasons.
Here you'll find an abundance of art galleries, antique stores, unique Boutiques, a performing arts center, a movie theater, several wineries and glass blowering studio.
Langley also has a variety of outstanding restaurants. Let us make reservations for you.
Some of the special events you wont want to miss are the Christmas Tour in December, Mystery Weekend in February, Jazz Festival in June, the Choochokam art festival in July, the Island County Fair in August and Djangofest at the end of September. The Farmers Market is a must on weekends.

Beaches Nearby
Stroll down to the Langley beach below Edgecliff, or drive 15 minutes to the Driftwood beach at the end of Double Bluff Road. View Seattle and Cruise ships passing.
Deception Pass and San Juan scenery
If you have time to drive to the northern tip of Whidbey Island, (1-hour drive), don't miss Deception Pass! Beautiful, breathtaking views of the San Juans from the bridge!
DVD-Matinee in your County Cottage
Go to a DVD-matinee in your Cottage at Country Cottage of Langley. In the Whidbey Rose, Captain's Cove and Cabernet Cottage, you can watch from the Jacuzzi. We provide a large selection of DVD's and videos for you to enjoy and we'll even provide the popcorn.
Evening Entertainment
For after dinner entertainment, you could take in a performance at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. It's about 120 steps from the Country Cottage.

Fishing
Enjoy the peacefulness of fishing at secluded Goss Lake, Lone Lake and Deer Lake. All are within 10 minutes of your Cottage.
Fort Casey State Park
Visit the historic cannons, bunkers and lighthouse at Fort Casey State Park.
Go on a Picnic
A trip to Star Market who's bounty include freshly baked bagettes, gourmet sandwiches and soups, wine, cheeses, cookies and chocolates. Star Market is on 1st Street off Anthes between 1st and 2nd. Star Store also has a great selection of clothing and gifts. Drive to Possession Point beach for your Picnic & view the Cascades from Mt. Rainier to Mt. Baker, the Sound, and the crossing ferry boats.
Golf
There are three courses nearby but beware of the views of the Olympic Mountains and the Sound; they're bound to have an impact on your concentration.
Greenbank Farm
There's also Greenbank Farm, about 20 minutes up the road from the Country Cottage. They serve a delicious selection of wines and liqueurs. A fun place for lunch and pie too.You'll see it from Hwy 525. It is a big red barn with a duck pond and picnic tables alongside. You can also stop into the Delicious Cheese store.
Local Wineries
Taste the local wine at the Whidbey Island Winery on Langley Road. (About 1 mile from your Cottage). The tasting room at Bayview Corner and several others are great spots to try local wines too.
Many places to enjoy lunch
So you don't shop 'til you drop, there's an ice cream parlor, coffee houses and a bakery. Better yet, enjoy lunch at one of our many restaurants.
Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens
Stroll around Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens. There are hundreds of varieties and colors.
Relax at the cottage
Or just Do Nothing! This is a place for rest and relaxation. Stroll, don't drive. Smell the flowers. Watch the deer eat the roses. Listen for the birds, the fog horn, the cows, the frogs, and best of all, the silence. Relax, nap, get on Island Time.
Rent a Bike
Rent a bike from Half Link Bikes on Bayview Road. The Binders in the rooms include a bike route map indicating the roads that are uphill, down hill, or level. They have "assist" bikes too for help getting up hills.
South Whidbey Historical Museum
On the weekends visit our South Whidbey Historical Museum on 2nd Street and learn about our Island Paradise.

Take a 4 minute stroll to town where you'll find art galleries with beautiful originals, antiques, and a variety of shops with tempting collectibles.

The Garden Shed - full of all things Chocolate, plants, candles, jams, tea and bath goodies too.
Five art galleries display hundreds of "Objet d'Art". Georgia Gerber's sculptures are frequently featured in Brackenwood Gallery. Museo has museum quality exhibits that change monthly. At Callahan's Firehouse Glass Gallery you can see his beautiful creations and then try creating one of your own.
Sweet Monas Chocolates offers a wonderful selection of handmade treats and delicious Gelato.
Visit Langley's antique stores. You'll find lots of goodies and antique furniture in all price ranges.
"In the Country" is a shop with a very tasteful selection of almost everything.
Tennis
South Whidbey High School just 2 miles down Maxwelton Road or Dan Porter Park on Deer Lake Road.
The Clyde Theater
The Clyde Theater is right in town showing fairly current movies for only $6.00.
